Under Chapter 16 of Exim Policy 2001, a new concept of
Agri Export Zones (AEZs) has been introduced to promote the export of agricultural
produce/products from the country. The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has signed
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of India for setting up of Agri
Export Zones in Jammu and Kashmir covering the districts of Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag,
Kupwara, Budgam and Pulwama for promoting export of fresh and processed apples. This MOU
entails a number of fiscal and financial incentives and administrative arrangements to
facilitate processing of apples and their export.
The following expressions of interest from interested entrepreneurs in respect of below
mentioned facilities are solicited. The entrepreneurs may apply for setting up of one or
more units, the detailed Project Reports for which shall be got prepared by the Nodal
Agency ( Directorate of Horticulture, Planning and Marketing) in consultation with the
selected entrepreneurs on request.

Units, Cold Store, CA Stores Sorting, Grading, Waxing, Processing Units, Packaging and
other Pre and Post Harvesting Operations
All those interested in setting up of such facilities/units in the Agri Export Zone are
requested to indicate their intention in writing alongwith their performance/ capabilities
to the Director Horticulture Planning & Marketing, Raj Bagh Srinagar/ Narwal Jammu.
